It is my sincere honor to hold the office of Butler County Auditor. I thank the voters for allowing me this opportunity. As a kid, my parents instilled in me the significance of public service, and my education and experience have provided the necessary training for me to do a great job for you! 

As your County Auditor, nothing is more important to me than high quality customer service. From our office, residents and taxpayers can expect honesty, competency, transparency, dependability, and accessibility.

Nancy was sworn in to the office of Butler County Auditor on February 13, 2023. Prior to her appointment, she served as Butler County Treasurer for nearly 16 years. 

Education and Experience

nancy and familyNancy's education and experience have prepared her well for the statutory responsibilities of County Auditor. Nancy earned a Bachelor's of Science Degree with a double major in Accounting and Marketing from Truman State University in Kirksville, MO (1992) and acquired her CPA license. She earned her MBA from Miami University in August 2012. Additionally, Nancy is a graduate of the Jo Ann Davidson Leadership Institute, 2003, and a graduate of two Butler County Chamber Leadership programs - Middletown, 2000, and Hamilton, 2006.

During her time as County Treasurer (2007-2023), Nancy served as a board member of the County Treasurers' Association of Ohio (CTAO) from 2016-2021, and served as President in 2020. She was on the CTAO Legislative Committee from 2007-2023 and served as Secretary/Treasurer of the Southwest Ohio District Treasurers' Association.
In 2012, Nancy was instrumental in instituting the Butler County Land Reutilization Corporation (Land Bank), which has been awarded millions in blight funding.

Before becoming the County Treasurer, Nancy worked as a Private Banking Manager at U.S. Bank, a staff accountant for Clark, Schaefer, Hackett & Co, CPAs, and Plant Controller for Corson Packaging of Ohio. Nancy also served as a Middletown City Council Member for four years (2002-2005); two of those years included serving as Vice Mayor. 

Community Service

Nancy at RHSCommunity involvement is a high priority for Nancy, a valuable lesson learned in her youth from her parents' civic participation. She has been a Court Appointed Special Advocate for abused and neglected children of the nonprofit organization Parachute/CASA and served several terms on the Middletown Civil Service Commission. Currently, Nancy is Secretary/Treasurer of her neighborhood homeowner association, serves on the Government Relations Task Force for the Chamber of Commerce (Middletown, Monroe, and Trenton), and is a very active member of the Butler County Republican Party.


Nancy is married to Bob Leshnak and lives in Liberty Township. Bob and Nancy have six adult children between them and one grandson, Owen.
